DIY Winter Sparkle Mirror Garland & White Lights. Yes, a mirror garland was store bought, but this looks great against the silver/gray walls. Tutorial/how it was done at Apartment Therapy here.
this exterior lighting… of course, the house is beautiful, but the lighting… perfection.

this is the last post of the night! this is my lighting fixture i designed for my—haha—lighting design class. i threw this together in about 10 hours. its supposed to be based on a biomimicry idea, so i chose leaves…because water distribution networks are based off of the veins of leaves.. OKAY so anyways. I used wire and tissue paper, hot glue and regular elmer’s glue and a random fixture base i found at savers for 2 bucks.. i spent $10 on the whole project. we also had to use CFL’s or LED’s..which are compact fluorescents (which are probably the best option out there right now, by the way) and everyone knows what LED’s are.. && this is really random and ridiculously design-y of me, but did you know that countries are banning regular incandescent lightbulbs? weird, right? so those will probably be completely gone in the next 15-20 years. Our grandkids are only gonna be able to see them in museums. freakin weird. okay, good night tumblrnation.
